Heating Your Stones
Controlling the temperature of your hot stones is very critical. It takes about an hour to heat all the way to the core of the basalt stones. You want to keep your stones between 120 - 130 degrees F and never put the stones directly from the heater to your client. Use a waterproof temperature thermometer in the heater so you know exactly what the heat of the water is and can better control the hotness of the stones. Always keep in mind the comfort level of your client.


Never place the hot basalt stones directly on the skin because the heat from the stone can burn it.
